Presentation Guidelines

The theme of the 15th ICRSS in Potsdam, Germany, is Polar Regions in Transformation – Climatic Change and Anthropogenic Pressures.

Presentation formats


Standard Oral Presentations: Standard oral presentations will have a duration of 15+5 minutes (presentation + questions). We kindly ask you to strictly adhere to the allotted time.

Keynote Presentations: Keynote presentations will have an extended duration of 25+5 minutes. We kindly ask you to strictly adhere to the allotted time. Technical details and requirements: Please use either Powerpoint or pdf format. We recommend using 4:3 screen format and cannot guarantee for good visualization if you are using other formats. We will provide a presentation computer and we will not be able to switch computers between presentations. You must upload your presentation in the presentation room latest until the start of your session, but we recommend providing your presentation to our technical staff in the presentation room at your earliest convenience.


Format: We highly recommend to use Portrait format in A0 size (118.9 x 84.1cm / 46.8" x 33.11") - we have most poster walls for this format. We only have a limited amount of poster walls for landscape format and due to the specific type of poster walls cannot cater for other formats (in particular smaller formats) than stated above.

Poster printing: In case you are not able to print your poster at home, there will be the opportunity to print your poster in Potsdam. Please contact us as soon as possible through in this case. A moderate charge may apply.

Flash Talk: As a poster presenter, please consider preparing a flash talk using exactly 1 slide and taking 1 minute to highlight your main points from your poster presentation - A unique chance to lure folks to your poster! Submit your flash talk slide to sofia.antonova[at] by Wednesday (12th Sep) noon. All 1-minute flash talks will be presented back-to-back right before the poster session.
