Ecology of Sea Otter Populations in Alaska and Their Role on Coastal Ecosystems

A series of studies on sea otters in Alaska that focus on the long term recovery from the 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill. Current research objectives conducted in coordination with local and federal entities includes sea otter population abundance and distribution, appropriate aerial and ground-based designs for population surveys, habitat use, and population genetic structuring.
