Geospatial Database Mineral Resource Analysis of Alaska

Mineral resource information is updated continually and digital analysis allows fluid updates of resource assessments.

Abstract

Goals of this project are to 1) provide statewide mineral prospectivity maps and data in GIS format for targeted commodities, 2) identify new areas in Alaska with resource potential for specified commodities, 3) identify understudied areas with mineral potential that warrant further investigation, 4) identify areas where data coverage is insufficient and requires future sampling, 5) improve spatial accuracy of datasets, 6) incorporate newly acquired data or newly published data into the datasets, and 7) bring in additional datasets such as airborne surveys and remote sensing compilations.
