Description:
Abstract:
This data set provides sample information, microsatellite genotype, and NCBI accession numbers for mitochondrial DNA sequences of peregrine falcons (Falco peregrinus) from North America and Russia.
Purpose:
To examine spatial and temporal genetic structure, inter-individual relationships, and assess subspecific taxonomic relationships of peregrine falcons.

Taxonomic_Procedures:
Samples were provided by scientists competent to identify Falco peregrinus to the species level. DNA data generated in this study would have identified any non-Falco peregrinus samples. Sub-species designations were based on currently recognized geographic bounds of each, with samples in contact zones labeled as possibly of either species.
