Animal Movement Bug Fixes

Version 2.04 (1/10/00)

    Bugs fixed

      1) Random Selection now works on selected points.
2.)Bug in Random Selection which caused exiting from function fixed.
3.)Terminology in Random Selection dialog corrected.
      4.)Animation bug fixed
      5.)Calculate distance bug fixed
6.)Kernel file name bug (all files in non-batch routine were named the
          same, overwriting the previous kernel)
      7.)Other misc. bug fixes
    Updates/additions

      1) Bootstrap function added: This can be a powerful tool for building your own bootstrap tests.  For example it can be used to create sample size tests for all the home range functions.  There is an help file associated with it that you can get through in the "About" button on the Bootstrap dialog.  This function is also easily callible from Avenue to help you build up more complex bootstrap tests.

2.) The "Spider" function has been significantly expanded with between theme capability.  It has also been cleaned up and a few minor bugs fixed.

    Known problems/bugs

      1) Tesselation and Triangulation cannot handle duplicate points.  Offset your points slightly, Not a bug but I'm thinking about putting in a routine to offset overlapping points by a little (with a warning) to prevent users getting blown out of the function.

2.) A potential problem with AV Garmin and Waypoint+, I haven't been able to track this down.

3.) Dialog boxes, wrong size, missing elements, etc.  This is some ESRI bug which causes dialog boxes to "forget" information between compiles.  So it creeps into different versions.  I try to catch this but if something looks wrong with the dialog box as compared to examples in the documentation etc. please send me email.

4.)UNIX problems,  there may still be some of these out there. I don't have a UNIX box to test this anymore.

5.) No Free Channels error message with Batch processing.  With large numbers of categories you may get this message.  It is only associated with getting the shape files into a view.  You can increase the number of open files your system can handle (see ArcView error help) or until I fix this just don't select for the shape files to be added to the view and instead add them manually.  This is not a large hassle because they will all be in the user specified directory.

Version 2.03 (9/20/99)

    Bugs fixed

      1) Ellipse error using ArcView 3.0x has been corrected.
      2) Latitude/longitude display fixed in various projections.
      3) Date input in batch routine fixed (stores date correctly).
      4) Several additional known bug fixes.
    Updates/additions

      1) Cut & Paste functions added to the display coordinates tool.
      2) Smoothing factor added to the table output in kernel home range batch process.

Version 2.01(7/27/99)

    Bugs fixed

      1) Tolerance values for "generate random points" have been corrected to function in a projected view.
    Updates/additions

      1) Avdlog.dat file has added to the Zip file (this needs to reside in the $AVLIB directory).

Version 2.00 (6/25/99)
    Bugs fixed

      1) Sort Routine
      2) Kernel
      3) Path Graphics
      4) Classify Points by Polygons
      5) Update Scripts are more intelligent
      6) Other miscellaneous bug fixes
    Updates/additions

      1) Batch home range processing added (except for triangulation and tesselation which also require contouring to be added to them). This function has many options for creating and organizing the large numbers of files it can create.  It also will batch process the point statistics function.  Batch can also run on single files so that you can take advantage of the other parts of this function.
      2) Delaunay Triangulation and and Dirichlet Tesselation added (except for contouring).
      3) Expanded control over Path Graphics.
      4) Flexible animation function for path graphics added.
      5) Random Normal Point Creation Tool Added.
      6) Random Normal option in the random points in polygons added.
      7) Calculate successive distances function added.
      8) Flexible record adding function which can add record numbers by table or ftab order, useful for before sorts or for adding unique numbers.
      9) Multiple probabilities are now available in the Jennrich-Turner function (in the batch routine, not yet in the single file routine).
      10) Several additional miscellaneous functions added.
