Forage Fish Distribution and Ecology in Core Areas of Predator Distribution
From here we take a ride on the M/V Tiglax, on a research cruise to the Aleutians. This site follows a collaborative forage fish ecology study conducted by US Geological Survey and US Fish and Wildlife survey along the Aleutian Archipelago during the summer of 2006. On this site you can find maps of the study site, photographs of research, species images, predator images, and catch results.
USFWS vessel M/V Tiglax provides support for research conducted in the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge. It is used as a support vessel for refuge operations and also is equipped for marine research. The name means eagle in the Aleut language. (click on image for larger view)
