This project conducts research and provides technical assistance relating to the development of quantitative methods and the appropriate application of new and existing methods in studies of arctic and subarctic wildlife.

Abstract


The Biometrics Research Project conducts research and provides technical assistance related to the development and application of quantitative methods in wildlife studies. Research is focused on problems in sampling wildlife and habitats, estimating biological and ecological parameters, testing biological and ecological hypotheses, and modeling population, community and ecosystem dynamics. Emphasis is on areas that have broad applicability across a number of Alaska Science Center projects and/or issues faced by client agencies.
