This dataset includes locations, and water surface elevations from two submersible pressure transducers deployed in the channel of the Tanana River downstream of Fairbanks Alaska in 2016.
Purpose:
Data from the pressure transducers were used to validate water surface elevations measured from satellite.

The accuracy of depths/water surface elevations was evaluated in the field by optical leveling. Measured water surface elevations were compared to elevations surveyed during four field visits. The difference in measured and surveyed elevations did not exceed +/-0.03 feet. The manufacturer states that instruments are accurate to 0.03 feet.
