Abstract:
Meteorological data was collected from two locations in the Agashashok River Watershed, one high in the drainage located on tundra (67.5440 N, 161.6828 W) and a second on a rocky knoll near the watershed mouth (67.2821 N, 162.5841 W). The data contain information on air temperatures, rainfall, barometric pressure, relative humidity, incoming and outgoing radiation, and wind speed and direction. Data collection was discontinued due to equipment failure and substantial demolition of one station by a bear.
Purpose:
These data were collected to aid stream studies, and specifically for calculating potential evapotranpsiration and water budgets within the watershed.

All equipment was received new from Campbell Scientific, no additional testing was done before deployment in the field. Additional details on quality assurance/ quality control of collected data can be found below in the process steps.
Logical_Consistency_Report:
All values fall within expected ranges - relative humidity never exceeds 100%, incoming solar radiation is always less than the theoretical maximum, outgoing radiation is almost always less than incoming radiation, and wind direction is always between 0 and 360 degrees. Blanks are used to note bad values or equipment failure, see attribute definitions for further explanation.

Only clearly inaccurate values have been removed, all other values are reported. For cumulative precipitation, no attempt was made to remove pulses related to snowmelt and undercatch is not considered or corrected for.

GPS coordinates were determined with a recreation-grade instrument, accuracy is estimated at 10 meters.

Meteorological sensors were attached to a tripod with two crossbars to collect data. Sensors were controlled by a Campbell CR1000 datalogger attached to a marine battery and solar panel. Two crossarms held most of the sensors, and all sensors were levelled. The anemometer was approximately 2m above the ground.

Minimal quality control and quality assurance was conducted on the data. Steps included comparing values between the two stations and with the nearby National Park Service Remote Weather Station at Asik Mountain using linear regression. Values were checked graphically, and incoming solar radiation was compared to theoretical maximum incoming solar radiation. Air temperatures were compared to the panel temperature.
