Description:
Abstract:
Digital elevation model in geotiff format of Exit Creek and part of Paradise Creek, Alaska based on 12 October 2012 aerial photography and made from vector breaklines and mass points collected by standard photogrammetric methods with a 1 meter cell resolution. Released concurrently with an orthophoto.
Purpose:
To show in significant detail the topology of the land cover. This dataset supports a study of the fluvial and glacial development of the area immediately downstream of Exit Glacier on Alaska's Kenai Peninsula. Exit Glacier and the associated Exit Creek are within Kenai Fjords National Park, and their changes over time are of interest to park visitors and managers.

Photography was used in a stereoplotter to create vector features for the creation of a TIN and were resampled for the creation of an orthophoto.
Process_Step:
Process_Description:
Aerial Photography Capture: A twin-engine aircraft with an on-board 6 inch focal length film camera was used to capture 6 exposures along 1 flight line. Scanning Process: The photographic negatives were scanned on a photogrammetric scanner at a resolution 12 microns to produce pixels with a nominal ground distance of about 0.1152 m. Aerotriangulation Process: The aerotriangulation was performed using GPS/IMU data and was refined using conventional photogrammetric methods. Photogrammetric Process: Mass points and breaklines were collected using a digital stereoplotter. Output format was an Acad Files. Conversion to TIN: ESRI 3-D Analyst extension was used to convert the vectors into an ESRI TIN using Delaunay Triangulation. The TIN was converted to ESRI GRD (DEM) format with 1 meter cell size.
